Camille Harris, LCSW, PCC
Senior Associate/Professional Coach
Camille started her professional career by teaching and then founding a school that became a highly successful non-profit community organization. Obtaining an MSW, as well as LCSW credentials, she then ventured into clinical and leadership positions in non-profit and government agencies. When she joined LaMountain & Associates in 2005, she initially specialized in executive coaching, leadership coaching, and team building in the manufacturing sector and other work environments.
In recent years, Camille has circled back to utilize over 30 years of expertise in working with teens, young adults, and others with learning challenges and co-existing conditions. While still doing other types of coaching, she now specializes in coaching people with ADHD and co-existing conditions while maintaining her clinical license and keeping abreast of medical, educational, and behavioral advances that help people manage ADHD and co-existing conditions.
Camille’s Path to Peak Performance has led her on an interesting journey, serving in several human service positions and culminating in her joining LaMountain & Associates as a Senior Associate and Professional Coach in 2005.
With a B.A. in Elementary Education and graduate training in Special Education, Camille’s first jobs were teaching in public and private schools. An entrepreneur and idealist at heart, she founded a private school in Rappahannock County, Virginia, that offered small classes and customized education for children in grades K-3. The school evolved into a multi-purpose non-profit community organization, The Child Care & Learning Center (CCLC), where Camille served as Executive Director for nine years.
Camille also founded The Foster-Harris House (a Bed & Breakfast) out of her home in Washington, Virginia, during the last years of her employment at CCLC. Though she enjoyed developing the B&B and eventually left her position at CCLC to become a full-time innkeeper, she missed human services work and developed a passionate interest in studying how to help people make meaningful changes in their lives. This led to her obtaining a Masters in Social Work (MSW) at Virginia Commonwealth University in 1992 and to becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
During the next thirteen years, Camille served in various clinical, supervisory, and leadership roles in the mental health/social work field, working in private non-profit organizations and local/state government agencies. She specialized in clinical case management and program development for teens and young adults with disabilities and served as a statewide Transition Specialist, helping localities create transition programs for youth with disabilities who were graduating from high school and deciding on a career path.
In 2004, Camille met Dennis LaMountain and became intrigued with the power of 360 Feedback and leadership coaching as tools to help people on their paths to peak performance. When Dennis asked her to join his company in 2005, it was the perfect next opportunity for her entrepreneurial spirit! As a Senior Associate/Professional Coach, she began leading 360 Feedback and coaching projects and helped dozens of executives, supervisors, and other key leaders improve their performance and advance their careers. In 2007, Camille completed the five core curriculum Co-Active Coaching courses as led by The Coaches Training Institute (CTI).
Loving leadership coaching, yet also desiring to utilize over 30 years of specialization experience with youth and their families, Camille obtained a certificate in Coaching Teens & College Students with ADHD with JST Coaching, LLC in 2008. This qualified her to become an Edge Coach, a professional coach who has met the rigorous standards set by the Edge Foundation and has completed training for working with students and young adults with ADHD. Drawing on her extensive experience in special education, social work, mental health, and coaching, Camille now offers leadership coaching, as well as customized ADHD Coaching and support services for teens, college students, and other adults with ADHD and coexisting conditions.
Camille has a special talent for envisioning the “big picture” and helping clients achieve long-term goals by focusing intently on daily details and following through on action steps that lead to success. This is especially helpful for people with ADHD, many of whom are entrepreneurs like Camille!
For Camille, the “secret” of peak performance is to apply what she does best with the target audience she knows best. She enjoys creating order and calm in the face of complexity. Whether it is designing and maintaining her extensive perennial flower garden or coaching Level 2 or Level 3 clients with ADHD, she loves finding creative solutions when chaos is present or lurking in the shadows!
Camille has earned a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) credential with the International Coaching Federation (ICF). She maintains an active clinical license (LCSW) in the Commonwealth of Virginia. By utilizing both clinical and coaching training /experience Camille is exceptionally qualified to help clients make significant changes in their behaviors and to achieve their goals.
