A Unit Manager at a large manufacturing company was concerned when he heard that his communication style intimidated some of his direct reports, peers, and co-workers in upper level management. He asked us to coach him so he could change the way he was perceived by others. Through leadership coaching, 360 Feedback and other assessments, he gained insight into his behaviors and developed a collaborative coaching approach with co-workers. Others on his team were so impressed that they, too, asked for coaching and made significant positive changes in their own behaviors. Having gained a reputation for developing a collaborative leadership style, being a successful change agent, and handling difficult situations, the unit manager has been promoted three more times.
